Back in September I took the family and my parents for a drive (a rather lengthy one, as it turned out) through the North Cascade Mountains. The

day was spectacular and we all had a great time. Highlights of the trip consisted of miniature golf and a stop in an orchard for some fresh-from-the-tree apples. The day took me back to my own childhood, where a drive into the mountains with my own grandparents was a not uncommon occurrence during the summer months.

Trips to the mountains with Papa and Nanny were always the best! Roadside picnic with Nan's fried chicken and potato salad were awesome. I miss those days and Nan's fried chicken.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great trip. You've got "real" mountains out west. I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteI recall our trip to the Cascades. Sinatra in the CD player and the whole day to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI could really use another such trip.
