Feeling My Age

Last night my wife reminded me of my age, and it struck me that in my mind I am not much older than 24, though that was 15 years ago.

Then the following exchange on an episode of "Bernie Mac." I have never seen the show, and always turn the channel when it comes on, but I caught these lines before my hand could reach the remote:

WIFE: You’re 45, you should be getting a physical each year.
BERNIE: I’ll meet you half way – I’ll get a massage.

That about sums it up. I will be making my appointment soon.

24 with 15 years experience is not such a bad way to roll. Send us snow posthaste.

There are days when I feel that my mental age is about 24, too. Then there are days when I feel like I'm a premature curmudgeon.

When we were in high school, we had an image of how those cool "twenty-somethings" were "supposed" to act. But those images seemed to disappear as thirty loomed.

I don't have an image of what 40's supposed to be, either. Kinda scary.

Don't tell Caryn, but she and my wife have no business reminding anyone of age.

Did I say that out loud?
