Rain Returns

Besides the hassle of the commute to work, we have enjoyed the week of snow here in Seattle.

On Tuesday, as more snow fell, I actually worked a half day at home and took the rest of the day off. My daughter and I made a large snowman in the front yard (actually it was a "Snow Mommy," according to my daughter, the mother of the snow child pictured here). And I saw a bald eagle soaring above my back yard, the first I have seen in several years.

Polly, the black Lab, fruitlessly chased snowballs again.

But tonight the rain is back, melting and washing away the snow. Things in Seattle are getting back to normal. My daughter slugged the snow child yesterday, and alas it is no more. And I fear that by tomorrow the snow mommy will be little more than a large ball of slush.
