Rick, THAT IS HILARIOUS! I just recently reminded of Blake and his tales of the Pant's Monster and Mrs Bowman. I have no idea what conjured up that memory, but I think it something I was reading in one of our blogs. It's not even a relevant comment for this Post, so why are we thinking about this?

Wan't it the "Pelion Pants Monster?"

This reminds me of the time my car was almost stolen in San Antonio, Tx. I told the investigating police officer that, "I wish I had been here when they tried to break in."
He paused from his report and asked me what I would have done.
"I would have shot them," I said, immediately regretting this slip of the tongue.
The patrolman paused, then proceeded to tell me how I could do that legally and not be prosecuted.
Ahhh, Texas.

I know who the Pelion Monster is, but who is the Bowman Pants Monster? That must be an inside joke.

Steve, I think you and my husband would get along well.

Back to Caryn's question. What happened???

Actually, vandals and burglars struck in the dead of night. The ironic thing is that I had parked the rental across from the police department. When I filed the police report for burglary I merely walked across the street and spoke to one of the dozen or so cops milling around outside.

Bowman refers to the woman who inspired the creation of the Pelion Pants Monster. Bowman inspired many things for many people. She taught English. Or was supposed to have.
