A Blast from the Past - 1986

Twenty-two years ago, the school pictured in the background was never "ugly" in my mind. By today's standards, however....

The two nameless persons pictured left were accused of hijacking their senior yearbook. Hogwash. They merely stepped up to the plate and provided the lion's share of the content. The photo at left is one of many pictures of themselves that never made it into the final edition.

Photo by Malcolm, taken for the high school yearbook, from my personal files.

Nah...this one made it in to the yearbook. I am not sure you guys highjacked it as much as you left your finger prints, signature and foot prints all over the place.

Classic Bill Brasky.

I was thinking that this picture, or one very similar from the same vantage point, DID make it into the yearbook. If not, I must have seen it "behind the scenes."

What a flashback! :)

I remember Principal Fulmer coming over the intercom the morning our Senior yearbooks were handed out. He expressed what, I believe, we all felt...it was the best yearbook we had (or in the case of my college yearbooks) ever would see. I laughed and smiled through every page. It's funny, but I had it out the other day looking at it. I think Patrick is right, this picture is in the yearbook.

Thanks for the memories, my friend.

I remember the comment by Mr. Fulmer about it being the best one he had ever seen. I also remember that my pic was on a page that was captioned as 'fuel to the fire' as part of the theme. Mr. Rish was the owner of Toyota Center where I worked, and he wholehartedly agreed with that commentary! You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!

I think a re-visit is in order. The school has changed much in just the last five years - would look completely different. I even think the athletic tower is rebuilt. Would be hard to find some of the old camera placements.

A couple of folks noted that the photo appeared in the yearbook. A photo taken from the same angle did, but this was one of the rejects.

Rick is right about the change to the school. I've only seen the exterior changes, but I think some of the charm is missing from the old 100 hall and the portables gone. I think they also got rid of the benches on the side of the old 100 hall where the portables were. Those benches were a favorite place to talk Dr. Maddox into having class outside! It doesn't feel like it should be that long ago since we finished HS though - in a few months will be 23 years. Where the hell did all that time go??

I tripped upon your blog from your sisters... and how funny to find this post! I, too, was one of the yearbook hijackers. And Laurie. And Yvette Chevette Lebby. Poor Mrs. Rawls... she lost all control with our motley crew.

I find myself giggling thinking about so many things from that annual. Some friends wanting to KILL me for participating in a BC colored annual. But it was the theme - and it WAS awesome! Then there are the numerous pix with the "laconda" captions - you and Alan's made up word! (How did that one get past Mrs. R?) Oh we had so much fun in that "class"!!! Hope you are well. And where is Alan these days?
